Celebrate Independence Day at Patriots Point

Join one of the city’s favorite traditions and celebrate the holiday with live music, food trucks, and a fireworks show over the Charleston Harbor. Take in the views of the amazing fireworks display from the grassy area of the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum with friends and family in this must-see event. Spend the entire day venturing into the museum and wrapping up the show with the fireworks celebration at 9:20 p.m.
Moonlight Mixer at Folly Beach Pier
When: July 7, 2023 | 7-10 pm
Where: Folly Beach Pier | 101 E. Arctic Avenue, Folly Beach
After nearly two years of construction, the Folly Beach Pier has reopened, and with it comes the return of the popular Moonlight Mixers event. This event welcomes people of all ages and will feature music and dancing from all genres as families gather and watch the sunset at the beach and enjoy the Charleston evening breeze. Enjoy a night of fun and dancing under the stars!
2nd Sunday on King Street
When: July 9, 2023 (Every month on the second Sunday)
Where: King Street from Queen to Calhoun Street, Downtown Charleston

RiverDogs Minor League Baseball
When: Home games throughout July
Where: Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park, Charleston
Get the family together, head to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, and enjoy Charleston’s Minor League Baseball team! American Jukebox 2
When: July 8 & 9, 2023
Where: Charleston Music Hall | 37 John St., Charleston
Sing and dance along to classic hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s in this spectacular summer show featuring some of the most gifted performers. Whether it’s Neil Diamond or Stevie Wonder, this show highlights some of the greatest songs from each decade. The performance will include more than two dozen hits and has three shows for guests. Tickets are now available for purchase.
Dog Days of Summer 5k
When: July 22, 2023 at 8 a.m.
Where: 171 Moultrie Street, Charleston
This annual event in Charleston is fairly new but has quickly become a popular summertime favorite. Starting at the Citadel track, this 5k runs straight through Hampton Park. Watch as families pour in with dogs and strollers to cheer on the runners as they conquer what is known as the “hottest 5k in town!”
Charleston Battery Summer Nights: $3 Beer
When: July 22, 2023
Where: 85 Patriots Point Road, Charleston
Join Charleston’s professional soccer club as they host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds this July. Families gather from all over Charleston to cheer on the men with each home game having a specific theme. This “Summer Nights “ theme will feature $3 beer starting at 7:30 pm.
Charleston Farmers’ Market

Where: Marion Square | 329 Meeting Street, Charleston
You will find a variety of local produce, plants, herbs, and cut flowers, as well as breakfast and lunch vendors, live music, and an assortment of juried arts and crafts from local artisans every Saturday at the market.
Charleston Museum’s 250th Anniversary
When: July 27, 2023
Where: Charleston Museum, 360 Meeting Street, Charleston
Celebrate 250 years of what is now the Charleston Museum with a special exhibit featuring the earliest collections from the museum. In the “Early Days” gallery, items from before the American Revolution to the late twentieth century will be on display. Guests have the opportunity to join Curator of History Chad Stewart for the story of the origin of the Charleston Museum.
JuLionfish Festival at the South Carolina Aquarium
When: July 28, 2023
Where: South Carolina Aquarium | 100 Aquarium Wharf, Charleston
To conclude the JuLIonFish Derby, the South Carolina Aquarium is hosting this 21+ event that includes live music, a silent auction, and lionfish demos and tastings. Try small delights from local restaurants as well as beer and wine. Proceeds from the festival will go to the South Carolina Aquarium Reef Research, which generates awareness about opportunities for a sustainable and balanced ocean.
Live at Firefly
When: July 30, 2023
Where: Firefly Distillery, 4201 Spruill Avenue, North Charleston
Firefly Distillery is hosting a stellar lineup of concerts that began in May. Firefly’s outdoor venue in Park Circle is bringing big names like Ryan Adams and The Cardinals, Fleet Foxes, and Shakey Graves this year. Enjoy American blended whiskey cocktails at the new Bend & Steal Whiskey bar or local food truck fare. All ages are welcome with General Admission and VIP ticket options. Bring blankets, but no dogs, outside food or drink, or chairs. Clear bags only and concerts happen rain or shine. The Distillery closes at 3 p.m. on concert dates.
